Hotel distillery

The Praxmarer family has cultivated the tradition of distilling schnapps for generations. Our Holderli distillery takes local fruits such as apples, pears, plums and Spenlinge – an old type of wild plum from the Tyrolean mountains – and processes them into fine spirits. Characterful classics such as rowanberry and the well-known gentian round off the range.

In recent years, Klemens has expanded the distillery by adding the Kaunertal Fullmoon Gin and Holderli Rum – powerful, distinctive and strictly limited. Only 500 numbered bottles of the "Pirate of the Mountains" were produced.

Klemens Praxmarer is a certified fine spirits sommelier

The host has been one of the fine spirits sommeliers in the Nature Park & Glacier Region since spring 2017. With their art, fine spirits sommeliers help to raise awareness for farm produce.

“My schnapps tasting?”

From fruity to fiery – cheers, all year round. Our spirits can be tasted directly at the hotel and purchased on site – or on request. Many guests take their favourite bottle home as a flavourful reminder of the Kaunertal. Guided visit of the Holderli distillery with tasting available on request or announced dates (€ 25.00 per person).
