Season of the epicureans
The culinary delights that summer has given us are all on offer in late summer and autumn. Regional delicacies, freshly harvested produce and the first fine spirits from the Holderli distillery: Apricot, pear, apple, gentian and more: fancy a taste? How about a minibreak before winter comes knocking?
Autumn hiking
Even though many mountain huts close, a few of the most popular ones remain open into October: Falkauns Alm, Gepatschhaus, Gogles Alm in the Kaunergrat Nature Park. Good to know: The region's hiking bus also runs until the end of October – for climate-friendly travel!
Want to be wined & dined? Or would you prefer a private dinner in the wine cellar?
Climbing & bouldering
Is climbing only for the summer months? Not necessarily! Autumn is grip time! The cooler temperatures make the rock easier to grip and perfect for challenging routes. Anyone looking to let off some steam indoors can train at the bouldering hall in Quellalpin, regardless of the weather.
Events
Alpine cattle drives, harvest festivals, autumn markets, tasty Törggele menus, new wine. It is impossible not to love the time between summer and the first snow. Here at the Hotel Edelweiss, we start the ski season in mid-November – so earlier than others – thanks to the guaranteed snow on the Kaunertal Glacier.
Every year at the end of the summer season, we organize a special holiday week with an autumnal supporting programme.
